This guide will show you how to set up an evergreen campaign in MailerLite Classic with an Apresly countdown timer that starts counting down when a user joins your email list.
Get your MailerLite API token
- Log in to your MailerLite Classic account.
- From the side menu on the left, select “Integrations”
- Open API access to find your account’s API key.
- Copy the key and keep it private.
MailerLite Classic API authentication.
Integrate MailerLite Classic with Apresly
- Log in to your Apresly account.
- From the side menu on the left, select “Integrations”

- Select MailerLite Classic from the list of available email providers (1), then paste the API token you copied earlier into the field below. Click the “Verify” button (2).

Apresly Tracking code implementation
- From the side menu on the left, select “Tracking code”

- Copy the Tracking code and paste it into the Head section of each site where you want to deploy Apresly solutions.

Campaign setup in Apresly
- From the side menu on the left, select “Campaign”

- Click the “New Campaign” button.
- From the available campaign types, select “Evergreen” and click the “Next” button.
- Name the campaign and select a category for it.
- Set up deadlines for your campaign and time zone.
- Select “Joins the mailing list” as the trigger (1), i.e., the moment when the timer starts counting down. Then choose the list after joining to which the countdown will start (2).

- Decide what should happen when the countdown is over.

- Show which website you want to display a timer (1) and then a different page to redirect after the deadline expires (2). Click the “Next” button.

- Customize the appearance of the countdown timer in the email.

- Paste the HTML code each time you want to display an email timer in MailerLite.

- Use the Email links in your emails when linking to these pages, instead of the actual URLs.

- Customize the appearance of the countdown timer on the page and click the “Next” button.

- Review the Overview summary and click the “Update” button.
For an automated webinar funnel, also connect your webinar platform to the email tool and Apresly. This lets you send registration links and reminders before the webinar. A webinar platform is not required for other evergreen funnels.
Create an email sequence in MailerLite Classic
- Open MailerLite Classic and go to the “Automation” tab, then click “Create Workflow”.

- Name the workflow (1). Set the workflow trigger to “When a subscriber joins a group” (2) and select the group created for your webinar (3).

- Using a plus (1), add the first email to the sequence (2). Name the email, title it, and proceed to edit the content (3).

- To add a countdown timer in the body of the email, click source code (1) and paste the HTML code from Apresly that you copied earlier (2). Click the “Ok” button and finish editing your email.

- Before adding more emails to the sequence, using the plus, click “Delay” (1) and set one day (2) if you want the next email to be delivered the next day without a specific time (the time of sending will depend on what time the lead joined the group).

Note: If you want to have control over the exact timing of the mailing, just setting a specific time may not be enough, since we don’t know what time the lead will join the list. This can result in a lead falling out of the email sequence queue. To make sure all scheduled messages reach him, for example, add a 9-hour delay (1, 2) and then set a send time - in this case, 9 a.m. (3, 4).

- Before each time you edit an email, click “Save” to make sure your changes are saved.
